Who we are
Affiniti+ spans clinical services, workplace consultancy, education and content — but it is held together by one idea: that good psychology should be available to everyone.
From clinical psychologists to digital systems, from assistant psychologists to interns — different roles, different skills, one shared belief that mental health support should be honest, evidence-based and deeply human. This is the team behind it.
Dr Anindita Sarkar
Consultant Clinical Psychologist AFBPsS | CPsychol | HCPC
I am a consultant clinical psychologist, with more than two decades' worth of experience in the NHS and local authority, working with children, young people and adults. In my last role, I was head of clinical services for a large London local authority.
I decided to set up Affiniti+ because I feel strongly that mental-health services should be brought into the mainstream. We need to normalise conversations about mental health and neurodiversity. No-one should feel alone in their struggles, so I want to forge positive connections and encourage collaborative thinking.
As a woman of colour with dyslexia, I know what it's like to feel different. I understand the desire to belong and the challenge of fitting in. I am therefore keen to make mental-health support more accessible and relevant to all communities.
I believe strongly in providing a personalised service, listening and responding to what my clients tell me about their needs and the obstacles they've faced.
I am a board trustee for mental-health charity Chasing the Stigma, and was previously a trustee for Missing People charity. I am proud and humbled to provide paid placements at Affiniti+ for aspiring psychologists.
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love the arts, and enjoy TV murder dramas, travelling, sunshine and crunchy snow. I embrace life with enthusiasm and an open mind.
Zara Tandy
Assistant Psychologist
I initially joined Affiniti+ as an intern and am now an assistant psychologist here.
I was drawn to the Affiniti+ tailored approach to mental-health care, and am committed to normalising mental-health discussions and advocating for therapy. I currently lead the development of groups, workshops and training sessions aimed at enhancing understanding and management of mental health and neurodiversity.
I also deliver neurodevelopmental assessments and therapy, as well as writing clinical reports.
I have a master’s degree in developmental psychology and psychopathology from King’s College London. My master’s research focused on the effects of early life experiences on later development, particularly how childhood trauma may result in psychotic-like experiences in young adults. I also hold a psychology degree from the University of Bristol, and am proud to be the first person in my immediate family to go to university.
Outside my professional life, I am passionate about the arts, regularly attending ballet performances, visiting galleries and playing the oboe in several classical orchestras. I work hard to be great at my job, help others and grow personally.
Rhyen Jivan
Digital Systems Assistant
I am the Digital Systems Assistant at Affiniti+, where I support the development and continuous improvement of the organisation’s digital systems and infrastructure.
My connection with Affiniti+ began as a client, so joining the team gave me a unique perspective on how our services are experienced from both sides. That experience continues to shape how I approach my work: with a focus on making our digital systems clearer, more accessible and more effective for the people who use them.
My role spans website development, digital infrastructure, workflow improvement and the development of clinical technology. I work on improving Affiniti+’s existing systems, developing bespoke web components and automated processes, and contributing to the design of electronic health record and clinical workflow systems tailored to the needs of psychology practice. A large part of my work involves identifying where existing processes can be improved and translating practical or clinical requirements into reliable digital solutions.
Alongside my work at Affiniti+, I am a final-year MEng Mechanical Engineering student at University College London. My academic interests centre on computational modelling, fluid dynamics, software development and simulation-led engineering.
Outside of work and university, I enjoy continually learning new skills. I regularly train at the gym, am learning to play guitar, and enjoy reading across fantasy, Greek mythology, history and murder mysteries.
Ayse Gundogan
Graduate Psychologist · Trainee Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
I'm a graduate psychologist, and I'm also training to become a psychodynamic psychotherapist. I'm training at the Tavistock Clinic, where I do my clinical placement under supervision.
At Affiniti+, my clinical work draws on two complementary approaches: psychodynamic practice, helping people make sense of their feelings, relationships and past experiences, and practical, evidence-based tools from cognitive behavioural therapy, which are particularly useful for anxiety and low mood. I work with adults and children across a range of difficulties, always aiming to understand the whole person: their strengths, their story, and what matters most to them. Whether you come on your own or with your family, I want you to feel heard, understood and hopeful about what is possible.
I have a Master's degree in Mental Health Studies from King's College London, and a psychology degree from the Université Catholique de Lille, where I specialised in neuropsychology (how the brain affects behaviour) and graduated with Distinction. My research background, including work as a Research Assistant at King's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, has focused on eating disorders and neurodiversity. I'm deeply committed to ensuring that people with lived experience help shape the services designed to support them.
Having lived and studied in three countries, I understand firsthand what it means to navigate cultural difference and find your footing somewhere unfamiliar. That experience shapes the warmth and curiosity I bring to every client. Through charity work in Istanbul, I have also delivered supervised low-intensity CBT, a short, practical form of talking therapy, for anxiety and low mood. I offer sessions in English, French and Turkish.
Outside work, I enjoy functional training, calisthenics, pottery and glass lampwork.
Jaheem Smith
Graduate Psychology Intern
I didn’t grow up expecting to end up at Cambridge. As a child I wanted to be a footballer, and I decided that learning languages would help me get there. That idea sparked a love of learning that changed the direction of my life: I went on to sixth form, achieved three A*s and won a place at the University of Cambridge to study Education, Psychology and Learning. There I became interested in how psychological theory can make a real difference in everyday settings, particularly for people who are too often overlooked.
Before joining Affiniti+, I spent a year as a SEND Tutor Fellow at King Solomon Academy, working directly with neurodivergent students. There I supported psychoeducational, sensory-based and emotional regulation strategies tailored to each young person. It showed me how much difference the right support can make, and why it works best when it is individual and joined up across the people around a young person.
At Affiniti+ I am a Graduate Psychology Intern. I am not currently seeing clients, but I will be working with them in the future. In the meantime, I lead important work on our visibility, database, clinical audit and research, which helps more people find us and helps us keep the quality of our care under review.
I will also be supporting An Affiniti for Psychology, the Affiniti+ newsletter, helping to bring psychology to life for a wider audience. This builds on my own experience writing Cognitive Pulse, an independent newsletter exploring different areas of psychology for a general audience. I care deeply about making psychological knowledge accessible to everyone, not just those within the profession. I speak English and am proficient in Mandarin.
Outside work, I am an amateur boxer and wrestler, and I represented the University of Cambridge in boxing. I love movement in all its forms. Training keeps me physically and mentally sharp, and has taught me discipline, resilience and how closely mind and body are connected.
