Affiniti+ is committed to keeping children, young people and adults safe. Everyone has the right to be protected from abuse and neglect, whoever they are, and the welfare of the person comes first.

We do offer therapy for people who experience thoughts of self-harm or suicide. Affiniti+ is not an emergency service. If you need urgent help, use the services listed below.

Our safeguarding lead

Our safeguarding lead is Dr Anindita Sarkar, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Founding Director.

How to report a concern

Tell us who you are worried about, what you have seen or heard, and when. Tell us what you know, even if you are not sure it is serious. You do not need proof.

If you are worried about a child, you can also call the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 or the children’s services team at your local council.

If you are worried about an adult, you can contact adult social care at your local council.

What happens next

We read safeguarding messages every working day, Monday to Friday, and acknowledge your message within one working day. Dr Sarkar decides what to do, keeps a record and, where we can, tells you what has happened.

If a child or an adult may be at risk of serious harm, we may need to pass information to children’s services, adult social care or the police, even without the person’s agreement. We will tell the person we are doing this unless it would put them at more risk.

How we keep people safe

Everyone who works with clients has an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training. We follow our safeguarding policy, and practitioners who rent our rooms must show us their registration, insurance and DBS check.
