A place to understand what feels stuck

Adult therapy in Woolwich and online

Do you sometimes feel stuck in a rut, or a bit lost – as if everyone else is on a journey and you’ve been left standing at the bus stop?

At Affiniti+, our aim is to help you understand what’s holding you back, and to give you strategies to move forwards.

We work with adults of all ages, backgrounds and abilities including neurodivergent adults.

  • Individual therapy
  • Group work
  • Family sessions

NHS waiting times can be long, and you may need support now. At Affiniti+, we offer prompt assessments and a clear treatment plan. Our aim is to help you before things reach crisis point.

A space to recognise what matters

Is therapy for me?

Therapy may be right for you if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why the same patterns keep repeating. You don’t need to be in crisis, or to have a diagnosis, to begin.

Life can feel overwhelming at times.

Therapy can help you work out what it is that’s holding you back, as well as why you might be stuck in unhelpful patterns of behaviour.

Working together, we can develop strategies to help you move forwards – without the barriers holding you back from the life you want to live.

A clear and collaborative process

What does a session involve?

A first session is a conversation about what has brought you here. They can take place either online or at our offices in Woolwich.

How we work

While therapists often specialise in one particular approach – such as psychoanalysis or CBT – at Affiniti+, we work across a number of different approaches. This means that we can draw on a range of strategies, depending on what we think will work best for you.

We hear
  • We use therapy sessions to identify difficulties in your daily life, as well as difficult experiences from the past that may still be affecting your life and relationships.

Together, we learn to understand these, and then put strategies in place to address them, where relevant.

  • We see our clients as equal partners in our work.

At times, you may feel challenged by our work together; at other times, you’ll feel validated and reassured. Ultimately, we want you to feel supported as we work towards achieving your goals.

  • We combine our own clinical expertise with the latest research evidence.

But we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach: the treatment we offer you will be tailored to match your unique life circumstances, concerns and expectations.

We are respectful of our clients’ background, culture and traditions.

Specialisms and modalities

Therapies we offer

The therapies we specialise in are set out below. Depending on what is most appropriate for you, support can be delivered through individual therapy, family sessions or group work.

    • Looks at how your thoughts, feelings and behaviour affect each other, and gives you practical tools to break unhelpful cycles.
    • Draws on more than one approach and blends them to fit you, rather than fitting you to a single method.
    • A structured approach that maps the patterns you repeat with others and with yourself, and helps you change them.
    • A supportive conversation style that helps you find your own reasons and confidence to make a change.
    • Focuses on the life you want and the strengths you already have, rather than dwelling on the problem.
    • Explores how past experiences and patterns you may not be aware of shape how you feel and relate today.
